Jewish Community Assistance

Specialized resources to Jewish community members in need.

Our community has special resources designated for Birmingham Jewish community members as they face difficult financial times, have unexpected large expenses, or find the costs of Jewish summer camp or college tuition unaffordable. If you are Jewish and experiencing unemployment, facing medical issues, living on a fixed income or other circumstance that has resulted in financial need, we want to help find solutions.

Need-based scholarships for children, teens and young adults attending Jewish overnight camps and organized Israel trips.

Interest-Free, Need-based loans are available to Jewish community members for a variety of needs such as college expenses (full-time students only), medical expenses, home or car repairs.

Burial plots, loans and financial assistance for low-income Jewish families to bury their loved ones in accordance to Jewish tradition.

Grants and clinic discounts to assist Jewish families with the high cost of infertility treatment.

We help Birmingham Jewish community members in need with short-term assistance for housing, food, utilities, healthcare costs, or other needs. Beginning with a financial assessment, CJFS strives to create long-term independence with strategy and planning.
