CJFS transportations programs help older and disabled adults live independently with two transportation options: Buz-A-Bus and Private Transportation 

 

Buz-A-Bus

CJFS Buz-A-Bus is a handicap-accessible, 7-passenger van that provides door-to-door transportation for people disabled and/or age 60+ in a limited service radius.

How Can I Ride?

Call Buz-A-Bus at 205.870.1010 to set up an eligibility screening and enrollment assessment.

Buz-A-Bus goes everywhere in a five-mile radius of the CJFS offices on Montclair Road:

Crestwood
Downtown
Eastwood
Homewood
Mountain Brook
Southside

That means you’re only a phone call away from doctor and professional appointments, beauty and barber shops, grocery stores, work, banks, fitness centers, religious institutions, friends’ homes and social activities and more!

  • Riders much be age 60+ and/or disabled adults. 
  • Riders must live within a 5-miles of the CJFS Main Office on Montclair Road. 
  • Riders of all faiths and races are welcome. 
  • Riders must be able to get on and off the bus independently or with wheelchair-lift assist. 
  • Riders are screened and enrolled through an in-home assessment process prior to riding the bus. 

Each one-way ride is $5.

Buz-A-Bus Hours of Operation are:
Monday – Thursday: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Friday: 8:00 am to 3:30 pm

Private, Escorted Transportation

CJFS staff provide private, escorted transportation in a CJFS vehicle to medical appointments within a 25-mile service radius.

Fee: $25 per hour.
