2017 Volunteer of the Year

And the Award Goes to...

Mahatma Gandhi said, "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." If you believe these words, then no one has a richer life than the three recipients of the CJFS 2017 Volunteer of the Year award. This year's award was presented to Dr. Cassandra Ellis, Associate Professor of English at UAB, for her work with the CJFS Cyber Seniors program; to Janna Meshkova, a teacher in the CJFS English as a Second Language program and Hazel Pizette, volunteer at the CJFS CARES respite program. Many thanks to Cassandra, Janna, Hazel and ALL of our wonderful volunteers - You enable CJFS to touch more people and broaden our impact on the community.
