IMMEDIATE NEEDS: It takes a special person. Is that person YOU?
Enlist in our Basket Brigade: No creativity required! Got a Large Vehicle or a Big Trunk? We need help transporting baskets of blessings orders to synagogues or party venues and picking them up after (you could sign up for either leg). We would like to put together a large team so that we can spread the jobs out to several people, making it convenient for everyone! Contact Lise Grace to say, “Sign me up as a Simcha Soldier!”
Once-a-month ride to Caregiver Support Group meetings: Give someone a much needed ride ONCE a month. There is a woman in our community who desperately wants to attend the CJFS monthly Caregiver Support Group meetings. This person does not drive at night. Would you be willing to help make this happen? The group meets the third Wednesday of the month from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM at the LJCC. You could attend the meeting or read a book or enjoy dinner at a nearby restaurant AND perform a mitzvah at the same time! The person needing a ride lives in the Overton Road area. Contact Lise Grace to say, “I am interested in learning more!”
Sign up for our list of "Movers and Shakers": If you have a truck or large vehicle and muscle power, please call to help make someone's house a home. From time to time, we have clients that are in need of furniture and people more than willing to donate items. The catch is we oftentimes cannot find a truck and a few people to help make the pickup/delivery happen. This is an occasional need and really requires a buddy system, ie, two men and a hand truck and/or muscles. Contact Lise Grace to say “Call me; I might be able to help from time to time!”
Always needed:
Volunteer Drivers – The perfect way to perform a mitzvah (good deed.) If you would be willing to help transport clients on an occasional basis in your car, please contact debbie@cjfsbham.org or 205.879.3438.
